Ramblings.

When I decided to start a blog, I knew one thing for sure. I knew that I loved fashion and I have a vast array of knowledge on the subject. One thing though is that when you start something that is a creative outlet a part of you wants it not only to be purely creative, but also a huge success. 20-something girls like myself are bombarded by fashion blogs from the sartorialist, to facehunter, to lookbook. We all look to sites like those as guides to what we want our blogs to be. I think sometimes we forget that the point of it is to express yourself and who you are, and if people like it then you can say you have been successful. I know personally, at times I want to post something just to do it. So I peruse other blogs seeing what is out there. But that's not really the point is it? The point is for me to be personally inspired and share my inspiration with others. If that comes to me five times a day or once a month then that is how often my blog will be updated. I hope that in the future I never resort to stumbling upon other people's inspiration and chalking it up to my own, because thats not art and that is what this whole thing really is. Right?

  1. beautifully said! i totally agree with you about this. sometimes you get caught up in all the blog hype that you forget the reason why you started in the first place!

  3. You've got it! Inspiration is what makes us create blogs, so if it hits once a day or once a month, followers should know that they signed up for something real, that what you're writing and posting is what you're feeling and seeing. Well done!
